Meet The Doctors   

                                         Edward P. Nelson, DMD

Dr. Edward P. Nelson is a 1972 graduate of Williams College with a BA in Chemistry. He received his DMD degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1976, and a 2 year postdoctoral certificate in Prosthodontics in 1978. Prosthodontics is the advanced dental specialty dealing with the restoration of missing and broken down teeth in order to restore the masticatory (chewing) system to optimal function and appearance. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways ranging from crowns, bridges, and veneers to implants and dentures. Dr. Nelson was an instructor in prosthodontics at Harvard from 1978 to 1995. He has practiced general restorative dentistry in Osterville since 1984.
 
 
Andrew P. Nelson, DMD

Dr. Andrew P. Nelson was born and raised on Cape Cod, in the village of Marstons Mills.  Dr. Nelson graduated from Bowdoin College with a degree in Chemistry and Economics, while also playing on the hockey and lacrosse teams.  He went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2010, graduating Magna Cum Laude and finishing 9th in his class out of 160 students.  He was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honors Society given to graduating dental students based on high scholarship, character, potential for leadership, professionalism, and ethics.  No more than 12 percent of any graduating class can be selected for this honor.  

Since graduating, Dr. Nelson has worked both in private practice and public health, providing dental care to under served populations in the greater Boston area.  Dr. Nelson strives to provide the highest quality dental care by attending continuing education courses to stay up to date with most current treatments and technological advances, while also creating a comfortable atmosphere for patient care.  His interests include all aspects of dental care from restorative dentistry to endodontics to oral surgery. Dr. Nelson is more than excited to  return home to Cape Cod and continue to build on his father's over 30 year tradition of providing excellent dental care to those of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Dr. Nelson and his wife, Dr. Amy Fugate, DMD, a pediatric dentist, live in Marstons Mills and enjoy spending their free time biking, kayaking, cooking, and most of all, spending time with their three miniature dachshunds.
